Message from our Principal
Kia ora ki te whanau!
Our Year 8's did a fantastic job on their construction maths unit this week where they tested their design and measurement skills to create sturdy castles that would stand up to the battle of the water balloons. A lot of fun was had out on the courts as we put them to the test! Congratulations to Selicia, Makayla and Miley who had the strongest castle! These hands on learning challenges, not only teach the traditional subjects but integrate important life skills such as collaboration, problem solving and communication.
As we head further into Level 1 many sports and co-curricular activities are starting up again. This is great for our tamariki as they will continue to have lots of opportunities. After such reflective time over the Covid period one thing we have been repeatedly told by our students were that they loved time with their family and loved time at home. While it is great to keep our adolescents busy it is also important to allow them a break in their schedule too. This is something we need to be mindful of as our calendars fill up again!
We would love to hear your ideas on the way we deliver our health programme at Tamatea Intermediate. Feel free to drop in on Monday 29 June at 5pm to have a chat, children welcome and a light supper provided. Naku te rourou nau te rourou ka ora ai te iwi
