• Internet is full of tools to handle and tame the information. It contains more and more effective tools to search and find the information

• Social networking services are web sites that enables users to create public profiles within that web site and form relationships

• Users can form groups according to their intrests

• The most popular social networking services are Facebook and MySpace

• Libraries can use MySpace and Facebook to

- inform about they events- present guided tutorials and special

collections- access to the web library catalogue- to social networking and communication- to offer expertise

• Flickr is one of the best known photo-sharing sites, where you can collect and organize images and where you can incorporate images into webservices

• YouTube is one of the best known videoservice, where you can can collect and organize images and where you can incorporate images into webservices

• Libraries can use Flickr:

- for creating library photo-tours

- highlight items from rare collections

- show what’s on the New Book Shelf this week
