Global Headquarters: Fashion Brand |Integrated Guarding

A longtime client, the global headquarters for a fashion lifestyle brand outside of Santa Barbara, CA,

partnered with Securitas to create a more cost-effective security solution without sacrificing service

requirements. The client site encompasses various functions from business and design to a retail

storefront with a café.

Challenge: As California continues to pave the way for higher wages, the cost of On-site Guarding for a large site

is becoming difficult for some organizations to manage.

Solution:

The local Securitas Branch Manager proactively addressed this issue by engaging his client in a

discussion of possible solutions. Securitas integrated the client’s existing 44-camera system with 11

new cameras to monitor the site’s current blind spots. The enhanced system utilizes video analytics to

alert Remote Guarding officers and the Securitas Operation Center in Charlotte, NC of after-hours

activity. The full solution features:

A cohesive system integrating the 44 existing cameras and 11 new cameras while utilizing the

client’s existing software platform.

Annual preventative maintenance visits and a comprehensive service plan to help keep the

cameras functional and maintain the longevity of the system.

Coordination between On-site and Remote Guarding officers, allowing for increased visibility and

helping to provide better coverage.

On-site Guarding officers who provide more administrative and concierge functions during the

active daytime hours, while Mobile Guarding officers offer additional support as needed.

Result: Leveraging the client’s existing technology, Securitas was able to provide Integrated Guarding for a

more efficient and cost-effective solution. Video analytics that automatically detect potentially

unwanted activity provide more consistent coverage of the entire site. The system can also be

adjusted to accommodate special events and varying activity levels. The client was ultimately able to

mitigate the impact of increasing wages without losing any of the service requirements of its security

program.
