Richter has simultaneously produced abstract and photorealistic painted works, as well as photographs and glass pieces, following the examples of Picasso and Jean Arp in undermining the concept of the artist’s obligation to maintain a single cohesive style.

Gottfried Helnwein1948-

Austrian-Irish painter, photographer, installation and performance artist.

He is also known for stage and costume design for theater, ballet and opera.

The human condition has remained his subject in self-portraits and Nazi kitsch historical painting. Much of his work is dominated by the image of the wounded child, scarred physically and emotionally.
