SICK LEAVE BENEFITS

Sick leave is accrued at the rate of 1.0 day per month

Unused sick leave counts towards additional service time at retirement – SAVE YOUR SICK LEAVE!

Extended Sick Leave – up to 20 days per year - available to classroom teachers and media specialists who have exhausted all sick and annual leave

Voluntary Shared Leave – For employees with a serious medical condition

Personal leave

Personal Leave is available only to classroom teachers and media specialists who are not allowed to take annual leave on student days

Earn .2 days per month Accrue up to 5 days May use on some students days and will pay a $50

mandatory deduction May use on Optional Teacher Workdays without

the $50 deduction Reimbursement of $50 if no substitute is called.

Teachers and Licensed Staff are paid at the end of the month

Installment pay is available through a Summer Cash account with SECU

All BCS Employees are required to receive paychecks via direct deposit

Paycheck stubs are available on MyPayStub Website.

Employment contracts

Contracts for licensed employees: No Career Status/Tenure granted after

August 1, 2013 New Teachers will receive one year contracts During contact year, dismissal only for

limited reasons and teacher entitled to due process

Non-renewal at end of year for any reason that is not "arbitrary or capricious."

SCHOOL CALENDAR RULES Calendar includes 215 days, consisting of:

180 student days

10 Annual Leave days

11 Holidays

4 Designated Teacher Workdays

8 Optional Teacher Workdays

2 Days to use Accrued Annual Leave

6 PLC Early Release Days

4 Early Release Days
