2017 RS:One Convertible European Championships

Our Goal • Grow the sport of kite racing and introduce

kiteboarding to yacht clubs around the world

• Expand the sport of windsurfing and bring watersports enthusiasts into foiling

• Develop kite racing and windsurfing (foiling and non) as additional disciplines of sailing • Retention of sailors through the offering of a variety of

wind sports that can be sailed competitively and recreationally by all ages!

• Educate YCs and RCs so that kite and windsurf circles may be added to regattas globally

What NeilPryde Can Provide • Curriculums for kite and windsurf in a structured

Venue Requirements - Kite • Staging Area – area where kites are rigged, launched,

and landed • Grassy field or beach is ideal • Must have side shore (parallel) to onshore wind conditions • May be a drive or boat ride away from the club • Could be a submerged sandbar, island, or boat launch • Flat water is preferred but not necessary • Stable (not puffy) breeze is preferred • May want a back-up location in case of off-shore breeze

• What to Avoid • Crowds • Excessively close buildings • Overhead buildings, wires, trees • Busy roads • Submerged objects • Excessive cold

Required Assets - Kite • Mark-set boats (same as sailing)

• Safety boats – recommended 1 boat to every 5 kites

• Beach Marshall – coordinate communications from land to RC

• Class Rep – elected kiter to represent the group

• Jerseys – sail numbers and safety!

• Clock – keep the event running like….clockwork

• Tablet – late registration, scoring, on-site management

• Flags – standard sailing
