As 2013 winds down, one of two things may be happening in my estimation. Some of you
are thinking, “Where did the year go?” The other thought process could be something like
this, “Good riddance to 2013, let the snow fly and bring on 2014!”
By some accounts, if not most, 2013 was not a banner year for rounds played due to the
weather we encountered in the spring. The momentum we garnered from 2012 became a
distant memory for some of us this spring. How did you react or how are you reacting now?
The “woe is me” does not solve anything. It only adds to the dismay and potential
restlessness that boards, owners, etc., may feel about this year. Your abilities as the “expert
in the game and business of golf” may be under scrutiny and tested.
If you have not had your year-end review or do not have one scheduled - get it scheduled
TODAY! But, and it is a big but, you must have a good plan and be prepared to make a
presentation for this review. Is that what is holding you up? If so, I have tools and resources
to assist you.
The Christmas Holiday is fast approaching. I am hopeful that you are able to enjoy family
and friends during this special time of year. I want you to know, I am willing, ready and
able to assist you in whatever way I can - even if you just need an ear to listen to you.
