Now check you emails. Sometimes it can go into spam folders.
Use the link in your new email to complete the registration process. This link contains your
personal details don’t forward it on to anyone.
Our sale can only go ahead successfully if we have a team of volunteers. You do not need to be
an NCT member to volunteer. Volunteers are needed from 8:30am - 4pm. There are some great
benefits to being a volunteer – if you are a seller your commission is reduced to 20% rather than
25%, you get to preview all the great items that are being sold, shop in our pre sale before the
main sale opens and then the satisfaction that you have helped raise money for the charity.
Please tick if you can volunteer.
Once you have entered your bank details (in order for us to pay you as quickly as possible after
the sale) and made your selections, proceed to payment.
You will be taken to the Sage payment screen.
Once paid you will receive the following message:
Check your emails for the confirmation email
Follow the link to view your registration details
Here you will find your seller number that you will need to complete your labels.
You should receive your label pack and instructions within two days of registering.

3. Label Making Every item presented for sale needs an easily detachable NCT label. We have prepared an excel
spreadsheet that you will receive once you have registered to sell.
If your label becomes detached and lost, we cannot sell the item. We recommend attaching
labels to clothes using a label gun (can be purchased from such sites as ebay for around £4). We
also recommend that you print your labels on card or thick paper as they tend to not get ripped
and lost as easily.
Labels Pack The labels pack is an excel spreadsheet – we recommend opening on a PC rather than on a
mobile device.
The pack consists of 3 sheet tabs. Please read through the ‘Instructions’ sheet thoroughly.
Complete the ‘Sellers Sheet’
The ‘Sellers Sheet’ will auto populate the labels.
Ensure that you enter your sellers number (found though your confirmation email), and your
name.
How much should I charge? Coventry NCT has a minimum charge of 50p. Prices must be in multiples of 50p (£1.00, £1.50,
£2.00 and so on).
The prices you choose are up to you. The following are suggested guide prices.
Coats/ best dresses/ outfits £2-£4 Dresses/ two piece outfits/ shirt/ cardigan/ jumper £1-£3 T-shirts/ 3 vests/ baby grows £1-£1.50 Stair gate/ fire guards £5-£10 Equipment/ toys Up to 30% of store prices
We cannot give anymore advice on prices. Think about how much you would be prepared to pay
for the item. Price to sell, people want a bargain.
Labels
As you complete the Sellers Sheet the Labels will populate straightaway through formulas
(benefits of excel here).
Please Save As your spreadsheet with your Sellers Number followed your surname to your PC
ready for printing and emailing.
3. Labelling and packaging Once you have finished making the labels in the spreadsheet please print on thick paper or
ideally card.
Attaching labels To help us be quick at the cash tills at the sale we need to easily and quickly remove the labels,
whilst keeping them intact so they can be read successfully so that you can be paid correctly
after the sale.
Only attach the left side of the label to your item, do not cut off the right side, we do this at the
till as the item is sold.
Clothes - The best way to attach labels to clothes is by using a tagging gun (available from such
places as ebay for around £4). Alternative methods are safety pins or thread. Tape falls off too
easily and we need your label to stay on the item so that it can be sold.
Toys, books and equipment – the best way to attach labels to these items is by masking tape,
string or thread.
Please do not use cello tape, duck tape or parcel tape as these can strip any paint, pull off paper
(off books and boxes) or damage the item.
Ensure that your label is clearly visible so that buyers can see the details and that the volunteers
at the cash tills can remove them.
Please do not cut the label apart. The left side (small piece) is attached to the item. The right
side (large piece) will be cut off by our volunteers at the cash till. It is this piece that will used to
pay you.
Packaging Clothes should be on hangers. Do not attach the label to the hanger but to the clothes.
If selling a group of items ensure they are attached to each other.
0-24 month clothes can be sold in clear, sealed polythene bags. You should attach the label to
the outside of the bag where it is easily accessible although items on hangers can be viewed
more easily by buyers and tend to sell better.
Equipment can also be sold in clear, sealed polythene bags. Again with their labels attached to
the outside of the bag.
It is advisable to sell items with loose pieces in bags to avoid losing pieces.
4. The Sale You should bring your items in either large bags; collapsible boxes or stackable boxes. These
should be clearly labelled with your Seller Number and your surname. No suitcases, we do not
have capacity to store these during the sale.
Please pack similar items together. This really helps the volunteers to unpack and sort items out
before the sale begins. You can do this by separating them into different layers or in separate
boxes.
For clothes, please bundle by size and gender. Each group can be tied together (string or elastic
band) so volunteers can easily carry them together to the rail.
At the Venue Drop off your items between 8:45 – 9:15am
On entering Tile Hill Wood School please turn left and then follow the NCT signs around to the
theatre.
On arrival, please check that your details are all correct on the sign in sheet.
A volunteer will take your items from the drop off zone and place in the right area ready for the
sale. Our volunteers will also be quality checking your items for suitability, any items that are
not suitable will be placed back in your box and not displayed during the sale.
Collecting your items At the end of the sale our volunteers will collate all your unsold items together into your
labelled boxes ready for you to collect.
Collect your items at 3:15pm
Please check the lost property table for any items that may have become detached from their
label.
Items not collected may be donated to charity, if you are struggling to make it on time, please
contact us.
You should be paid 75% of the value of your sold items (80% if you are a volunteer) by BACS
within two weeks of the sale if you have provided us with your bank details. Cheque payments
can take longer.
5. Publicity The better advertised the sale, the more people will come. Then the better your items will sell.
Please look out for our Facebook/twitter posts about the sale and Like, Comment and Share the
love. Also please let us know if there are any venues that will display our posters and or give out
leaflets.
6. Volunteering We always need volunteers. Volunteering is a rewarding experience. If you volunteer at the
Coventry NCT nearly new sale you get to preview all the items for sale, attend our volunteers
presale and pay less commission on items you are selling. Volunteers are needed from 8:30am
until 4pm. We are also having lunch provided for a £2 donation.
You can also volunteer in different ways, if you own an estate car or have access to a van we
need to transport the hanging rails to the venue on the Friday evening prior to the sale and then
return them once the sale is finished (from 3pm) We also need people to volunteer to
distribute/hand out leaflets.
If you can volunteer for any of these activities please email nct.cov.volunteer@gmail.com
