PATHOGENESISAetiology

Collection of extracellular fluid

Edema of nasal mucosa

PATHOLOGICAL CHANGES

Ciliated columnar epithelium (normal)

Atmospheric irritation

Metaplastic change to transitional and squamous type

• Sub mucosa- large intercellular space filled with serous fluid

• Infiltration with eosinophils and round cells
