Fall Ball Program

• All Voluntary• 10th-12th Grade (Limited time and space)• 6 Weeks (September – October)

– 10 workouts on the field– Morning Hitting (100 swings)

• 16 total sessions = 8 per player

– 18 workouts

• Fall league through McCandless open to everyone (about 14 games)

• Total = 32 workouts

Off-Season Conditioning

• Voluntary• 10th–12th Grade (Limited time and space)• 6 Weeks (November – December)• Monday – Tuesday – Thursday – Friday

– Strength, speed, power, and agility workouts– Some hitting– No throwing

• Morning hitting– 20 sessions – 2 per player

• 1st session = video taping• 2nd session = break down of video and instruction

Pre-Season Conditioning

• Voluntary

• 7th-12th Grade

• 8 Weeks (January – February)

Pre-Season Conditioning (Middle School)

• Monday nights @ Marshall Middle

• Especially important for pitchers

• Some conditioning @ individual schools

Pre-Season Conditioning(9th Grade)

• Baierl Center– Thursdays in January– Thursdays and Saturdays in February

• Pitchers and catchers @ Baierl Center w/10th-12th Graders on Tuesdays and Fridays (Jan) or Saturdays (Feb)

• Some workouts @ Marshall Middle on Monday nights for infielders and outfielders

Pre-Season Conditioning (10th-12th Grade)

• Baierl Center• Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (Jan) or

Saturdays (Feb)• Pitchers throw twice a week (8-week throwing

program)• Skill development (all facets of the game)• Continue strength, speed, power, and agility

workouts• Morning hitting 4 days / week (one workout per

player)

Tryouts

• For 7th-12th Grade the first official day of Baseball in 2008 is Monday March 3rd

• 4 Days (March 3rd–6th)

• Multiple Evaluators

• Representatives of the Varsity/JV staff at tryouts at all levels

Varsity / JV Selection

• One squad

• Practice together– Sometimes staggered in a 3-hour window

• Some movement between levels to increase playing time and for skill development

Disney Spring Training Trip

• Varsity / JV

• Excellent time to go this year

• 2 scrimmages and 2 games each

• 3-4 practices each (Varsity / JV)

• Plenty of hitting in the tunnels

• Very important for continued player evaluation

Regular Season

• 10 Weeks (March-April-May and beyond)

• 20 Game / 2 Scrimmage Limit

• 6 days / week = plenty of practice time

• Skill development

• Varsity /JV continue strength program

Summer / Off-Season

• Strength program (non-supervised)

• Some summer workouts with NA staff

• Role of NA school staff
