response to dynamic loads

Not hollowed out: ex. solid block of wood
Structure with a solid outer surface (which may be rounded or flat in shape) and a hollow inner area . Ex. A Styrofoam cup
Structure supported mainly by a skeleton, or frame, of wood, steel, or reinforced concrete rather than by load-bearing walls.
Normally made from shallow steel 'I' beams, box girders, reinforced concrete, or post-tensioned concrete.
