Develop A Relationship with Your Audience

Think about your target audience and how your post is relevant to them. “Bond” with them through:• goodwill (e.g., sharing interesting facts, business and industry trends, tips for work),• humor (e.g., sharing a humorous quote or comic),• imagery (e.g., use photos and graphics to tell your story).

Make it a 2-way communication

To increase engagement, end your post by asking your audience for their ideas, opinions or advice or include a call to action. Make sure you respond to readers’ comments to show that their feedback matters.

Time your posts well

Timing is key to make sure your post is visible to your subscribers.

• Post during lunch hour when people are active on their mobile devices.• Plan your content. Too few posts will make your channel invisible. Too many posts will annoy

your audience. We recommend spacing posts out to 2-3 a week.

Posting like a STAR

Internal

Posts stories that will boost your channel’s credibility

PETRONAS is known for its prestigious events. If one of the successful events or conference showcases your area, share it on your channel. These types of posts increases visibility and affinity for your channel.

Don’t just post content about your brand

Include content that benefits your audience once in a while, instead of just talking about your brand. For example, a HR-related channel can include a post on “What Makes you Irreplaceable at your Workplace” in place of the usual HR announcements.

Share your thoughts when sharing a URL

Before publishing hyperlinks on your channel, customise the post to make it more personal. For example, add your opinion or remarks to the title of the story, such as “7 Ways to Increase your Time Management Efficiency (#2 is the most powerful of them all)”.
