My time at the University of

Cincinnati

What?? So What??

Starting UC and Maintaining A High GPA with two small kids and an Active Duty Marine husband

Not giving up on myself even after not making it into PTA school

Seeing The Exploratory Advisor, Soul Searching, and Changing My Major After Spending The Summer Volunteering

Three Significant Experiences

I waited until my kids were old enough to be in school for me to start college.

My husband travels a lot so it makes it hard to attend class when he is away because we don’t have family to help with the kids

After my first term, I was so proud of myself because I felt I was able to juggle everything and still come out on top

I am older than some of my teachers and most of the students I am in class with

Having a Quadriplegic Father being a PTA was a dream

Spent more hours at school studying than at home

Had the grades, put in the hard work…. Why wouldn’t I get in?

I did not have a back-up plan Had to finish some of the classes with people

who got in knowing that I didn’t

Not giving up on myself even after not being accepted

into PTA program

Now What??

Talking to people is second nature to me, it’s very easy and I enjoy it so much

I want to work with an organization that gives to the community in times of need

Providing a positive outlook and being there when people need help

Using my gifts & talents

to give back

This time at UC has taught me to have a back-up plan!

I have learned that just because you are comfortable in a role that may not be your destiny.

I have always known that I would work with people; I just was not on the right path for me.

As I continue to move forward, I am going to enjoy the learning experiences I receive in class and bring that knowledge into my career.

Lessons I have learned

I can do anything that I put my mind to. God is leading this journey and there will be

many obstacles ahead. I may think that my life is falling apart and that I have nowhere to go but God will lead me down the path he feels I should be on.

Even as I look back at the struggles of PTA school I don’t regret them. I think they helped me persevere and be the best that I could be!

I need to take more pictures of myself while I am participating in events!

Advice I would give to myself
