BiographyShamsa saif is an Emirati senior visual arts student at Zayed university; born in Dubai, in 1990.

She spent the previous three years studying art studios, such as; drawing, painting, ceramics

and printmaking. Her work mainly focuses on the humanity and life subjects. She have always

been inspired by human’s behavior and thoughts, and likes to use new and creative ideas to

make her artwork exclusive and exceptional. She is a Member in “Environment Friends Society

in Al –Ain”, and volunteered in “united in responsibility in 2010.

Clay is a material from the ground, which makes me feel closer

I enjoy a snapshot of a good movie, or depressed

Art runs in my veins, my mother's stories about my grandfather, a goldsmith, creating attractive gold designs that Inspired me. Art passion grew up with me as I used to draw in the margins of my schoolbooks, decorate my notebooks , and make small models from empty boxes.

My obsession to art motivated me to learn more about this charming world. I show this passionin all my art pieces through drawing, coloring or taking photos. Though, the closest to my heartis making pottery. I adore clay and ceramic with their rough texture, it inspires me to create shapes that translate my feelings.

Humanity is the source of my inspiration. It hits in everyday actions and memories that we live. Some of these actions touch my heart.

My art pieces are always a source of happiness and pride to me. I feel rewarded when I accomplishany work. I dream one day to share my creativity, imagination and feelings with people around theworld. I view myself in the next ten years to be an important, internationally known artist, whois recognized by her meaningful art pieces.

Life angle

This painting will show you the way I see life in my eyes. Life to me is complicated as well as tricky, but in the same time there are beautiful things to enjoy. The triangles, in my painting, represent the difficulties we face in our way to success. I specifically chose the triangular shape, because this shape has the sharpest edges of most geometrical shapes. The black borders on the triangles are the toughest and most complicated obstacles we may face in our journey to success, as they have knife-sharp curves on the sides, and many details in them. The triangles with the white borders, or no borders at all are easier to get past them. The golden background detailed in white is the hope, that helps us hold on to our dreams that we hope to reach someday. The colorful curves, which lie underneath the triangles, are our bright dreams that we struggle to accomplish.
