WEEK 2 EXPLORATION: STORYBOARD
Waverly Gunter
Before I started the MCBS Program, I graduated with a Fashion
Merchandising and Marketing AAS degree.
I lived in New York City and really learned a lot about fashion
and the fashion district of the city.
I had always thought I wanted to be a model in the fashion world surrounded by high fashion and
colors.
While I lived in New York City, I came to the realization that the fashion
world and the city were much faster than I could have ever dreamed.
But then, I realized I wanted to be in the background and direct people around and be a casting director.
I worked for a fashion show production company and really enjoyed being the
assistant of the owner of the company.
Because of that, I realized I needed to changed my industry around a little
bit and expand from the fashion industry to also the media industry
I enjoyed being a busy body working along side other important
“background” people and not just worrying about modeling or fitting in
the fashion industry.
Because of that, I researched all the different job positions and careers in
the media and communications industry that could still expand into
the fashion industry.
After reviewing those different job titles, I noticed that I could do anything from public relations to being a creative
director and didn’t have to just stick with modeling or fashion merchandising.
Because of that, I realized I would best fit into a Media Communications program and utilize the skills that I
would learn from a program like that.
I learned over the years that I am definitely a communicator.
I really like how I can apply various media outlets into my job industry.
Until finally, I enrolled in the MCBS program at Full Sail
University.
I decided that the program was definitely proficient enough to do online versus going to campus.
Just in the 5 months I have been in school, I have learned a lot of
factors that go into this wonderful program Full Sail has to offer.
And ever since I decided to pursue my passion for media, while also utilizing my passion for fashion to be able to become a Creative Director one day.
My passion for media has blended with my interest in fashion which is definitely something I am glad I fell
for.
