What is he like?

Today we start talking about the Attributes of God.

Who is God?

So this summer, we will be studying some characteristics of who God is. That means we will talk about what He is like. What is true of Him. So that we can get to know Him better.

Today: God is All Powerful! He

is Sovereign.

What is Sovereign?

Sovereign means ‘all powerful’ and ‘the ruler’. A

king of a country is called the sovereign ruler – it means

that he is in charge and everything there is his.

What does the Bible say?

Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him.”

Why is knowing this important?

Eph 3:20 “Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.”

LK 12:16-21 And [Jesus] told them this parable: "The ground of

a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, `What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ Then he said, `This is what I'll do.
