My child is about to turn 5 years old…and is living with Autism.

My child cannot have a birthday party, because

she cannot play any party games.

My child doesn’t get invited to

birthday parties either.

My child is school age, but cannot attend a normal school.

My child has no friends and plays alone most of the

time.

She is non-verbal and nobody wants to play with someone who cannot talk to

them.

My child’s favourite colour is hot pink. I know this, even though she

cannot tell me. I have to work hard at understanding her needs and wants because she cannot express them

effectively.

My family cannot attend many events, because my child becomes

anxious around large groups of people.

My child has never had her face painted. It would cause her too

much distress.

Other children tease my child at the playground.

Strangers have labelled my child a brat at the local shopping centre,

when she was having a

meltdown.

For my child, life is tough. But, even with our daily obstacles, my child and I delight in each other every

day.

I know my child loves me, even though she cannot say it.

I love my child so much and tell her all the

time.

My child faces many challenges, but I am with her every step of the way.

My child is a gift from God. Children are His reward.

Please help us support children with Autism.
