experience here during school and then was asked back during my business level 2 course. I developed many skills during this time including money handling/till work, customer service, organizational skills and technology skills.
South downs college Library: I completed my work experience at the College Library during the second half of the year of my business level 2 course. Thanks to my library experience I managed to gain many skills including organization skills, IT skills and communication skills.

Covering Letter part 2 Dear Neil I am writing to you today to enquire about the possibility of a work
experience placement starting as soon as possible. I am able to come in on either a Monday or a weekend.
I have been studying media for the past 2 years with a double merit in level 2 media and am now currently doing a extended diploma in journalism with ambitions to one day become a journalist writing news stories in either sport or gaming.
The News is somewhere that have always felt would be a good place to kick start my potential career as a journalism in either sports or video games as it is nearby and would be a great opportunity to write for my local area.

My Dream job role The industry I would love to work in is videogames as it is my main
passion and doing something that involves what I love would be a dream come true.
I want to work in either journalism covering and reviewing videogames for magazines and newspapers as well as online websites like “what culture” and PR representing videogame companies through conferences and press.
This is a area that I have always wanted to work in so much of my focus for many years has been finding opportunities in the gaming industry.
To get into this career I plan on going to university to study journalism. To do the course I have estimated that I need at least a Distinction and
a Merit.
Potential obstacles: gaming journalism
While there is a lot of openings in this area it is still very hard to get into as a successful career
Also as someone who does not drive travel might be a potential issue this is because sometimes you will get assigned to locations around the country
Another obstacle is not getting the grades required to open the door into this field
How to avoid these obstacles: gaming journalism
Achieve the target grades Find suitable way for travel eg: train, coach etc.Gain experience and knowledge of the field Do research Do work experience or do a apprenticeship Gain contacts who work in the field
My Ideal Job RoleIf I cant obtain my dream job role ideally I would
like to find a career in teaching possibly as a teaching assistant or supply teacher
I could even work up the ranks and become a proper teacher
I would like to work in a area that is within the teaching/education or gaming industry
My Experience: Robert Dyas
I have done 2 work experience placements in Robert Dyas as a sales assistant working on the shop floor and at times behind the till.
I stacked shelves around the shop floor both up stairs and downstairs. Handled stock working out where to place the stock and how much. Assisted with bringing in deliveries to the store and clearing out all the
used boxes. Handled money Cleaned the shop floor Assisted customers with queries and finding where there desired products
were Tagging products The placements lasted for 2 weeks in 2010 and 2 months in 2013.
My Experience: College Library
Shortly after my placement in Robert Dyas I had a 1 month placement in the College library at Southdowns College.
I worked behind the desk handling customers taking books in and out.
Shelved the books in the right order Tagged the magazinesWorked on the computer dealing with spreadsheets and
creating posters. Assisted customers with finding where to go for there
desired book.
My Experience: The Langstone Hotel
Currently I am on a zero hours contract with the Langstone Hotel

creative journalism Level 3. I have obtained a distinction in AVOC 1, Merit in
Customer service, Merit in finance and a double merit in Media Level 2.
After College After College I would like to enter University or
do a apprenticeship. The degree I would like to study is journalism
