In Fall 2010, our assumptions were:
-Students would be very experienced online learners/had taken online courses before-People would be attracted to the courses because of the exclusive views of the galleries and multimedia content-Would attract primarily US/English speaking audience/ Would not attract any New YorkersWinter/Spring 2012 Online Course Offerings
Online Course Students: 1,336 students from 60 countries since Fall 2010

What surprised us in the data and survey results from students:
What surprised us:
•73% of students had never taken an online course before
•Technology was a hurdle: download speeds, discussion forums, password-protected sites, the idea of asynchronous, etc
•Students reported they signed up for the course for the connection to MoMA, and reported feeling more connected to the museum at the end of the course
•All different languages (60 countries) and many New Yorkers

-Infrastructure -No out of the box solutions -Ceiling on expansion based on the staffing/time/requirements to maintain the courses
