Member Perspective: Until I See You Again
I'm sitting here watching all the craziness on TV...
Wondering if these times are affecting you like me.
Each day seems longer than the one before...
You get up and wonder what this day has in store.
I'm dreading my turn to do the shopping task...
Do I have any sanitizer? Ooops almost forgot my mask.
Do I need bread or milk? Don't forget the orange juice.
God I miss spending time with my friends at the Moose.
Yes I'm still crazy as a loon.
I hope that I will get to see you all soon.
Just remember,whatever this life poses...
To take time to stop and smell the roses.
Who knows what will happen only time will tell...
Until I see you again I hope all of you stay safe and well.
With all my Love, Anita Hart Paris
Editor's Note: We are now adding Member Perspectives to the monthly newsletter. These perspectives are an opportunity for you to share some thoughts with the Land O' Lakes Moose Community. This will be a great way for you to engage, share ideas, spark an interesting debate, or simply share an experience or observation about Moose life. You may get "tapped on the shoulder" to write about a specific event, or to simply provide your own voice about a timely topic that we may all enjoy reading. Please send submissions via email to sisterannette@gmail.com.

GREETINGS FROM THE GOVERNORBrothers and Co-Workers,
We are on our way to re-opening our lodge this month. This is of course up to the Governor of Florida.
A special thanks to Byron and his staff for the Friday April 24th chicken take-out dinner. This was a good morale booster for these unusual circumstances. We will continue to have our regular monthly meetings in the Lodge during this shutdown adhering to the guidelines set forth by the state and Moose International. Please attend these meetings if possible so we can keep our mission intact.

The LOOM nominating committee has nominated a full board unopposed. A formal determination of this will take place in June and an installation ceremony will also take place in June. The present board will retain office until June 30th. The new board will begin July 1, 2020.
We are close to a final design of our new lodge. This will help us to seek financing from local lenders to begin the construction process. As mentioned before we have been moving forward on things that need to be done on the building site like surveys and variances.
The FMA mid-year convention was canceled but you should start making your plans for the FMA convention in September. A new calendar of events will be posted as soon as the lodge is opened up for business.
As always retention of existing members and getting new members are keys to our success. Tell your friends and neighbors what a great fraternity we have and bring them for a visit as soon as we re-open.

NOTE: Current Officers will remain in role until July 1, 2020

v The Chapter will hold the regularly scheduled meetings (Audit Committee, Board of Officers, and General) on May 7th via the video conference application ZOOM. Details will be distributed via email and facebook shortly. Zoom will allow many to attend the meeting virtually by phone and/or web cam. Those with computers, tablets and smart phones are encouraged to download the ZOOM app to be ready for upcoming meetings. A test run will be scheduled in advance of May 7th to help prepare coworkers to participate.
v The 2020-2021 Officers were elected at the March 19th Chapter meeting, but will not take office until July 1, 2020, due to the extension Moose International has placed on the current Board of Officers. The current Board will be working with the incoming Officers May-June to assist with training and aid the transition for the new officers in July. Our joint LOOM/WOTM Installation of new officers and chairpersons is tentatively planned for June.
v There will be no “Committee event” in May, due to the coronavirus. Potential Committee events for June and July will be discussed with both the existing and incoming officers and chairpersons, once details about the lodge reopening are received.
v Chapter news and updates is shared regularly via the "Rosie Moose # 2322 Land O Lakes" Facebook group. If you are not already a member of this group, you can join with these easy steps: from the Facebook menu, select GROUPS; In the search field, type Rosie Moose # 2322; click the group then Request to Join. A Word from our A Word from our Valued Vets CommitteeValued Vets Committee
The Valued Veterans will sponsor a supper on Friday May 29th at 6pm, providing the lodge is reopen for business. The menu for this meal will be determined during the May 12 th meeting (6:30 pm), if the lodge reopens prior to that date. The Memorial Day Service that is planned for 5:45 pm (before the supper) with a presentation of Colors by the Wesley Chapel Civil Air Patrol Cadets, is pending. More information will be shared once the lodge reopens. Please see Ralph Fisher with any questions.
Additionally, during this time of isolation, there are many Veterans who have no one with whom they can visit. A simple card or note goes a long way to help our Vets feel connected. Nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities and hospitals continue to operate in a “No Visitor” manner, so it's especially important to reach out in other ways. Please consider a note of encouragement to a Vet in a local nursing home, hospital or VA. The staff will ensure your note gets to someone who needs it.
