One of the most diverse animal groups

Bilateral

Coelom-fluid-filled body cavity; the space where the major organs are located

Radula - a tongue with plates or “teeth” on it;used to scrape food into the mouth

Mouth and Anus; called a “through gut”

Complete stomach and digestive system

No skeleton; cavity gives shape; shell protects

Live everywhere!

“Foot” for moving/burrowing

Squid use jet propulsion (tentacles); VERY fast

Name means “soft bodied”

There are 3 types:

Bivalves

Gastropods

Cephalopods

Have a nervous systemGangliaNerve cords

Have an “open circulatory system”Blood is pumped to the spaces and diffuses through thecells

Many are used for food by man

AnnelidaThe segmented worms
