Modernisation of Indian Agriculture

Problem

• Rural areas get variable power supply• Farmers get 5-6 hours of electrical power a day• They pump when power is available rather than

when the crop need it• This leads to water waste and adverse impact on

crops• Diesel pumps have high operating cost due to

increasing oil prices

Objective • Using renewable energy I,e

solar.• To save water

• The system will detect day and night using LDR(light dependent resistor), for solar power utilization and storage

• Moister sensor, Dry null(water level) sensor are used to sense the moister level of soil and water level in water storage tank

• Stepper motor is used to drive solar panel for tracking the maximum intensity of light

• GSM is used for mobile communication between farmer and arm7 lpc2148 computing system

• There are two modes used to operate the system they are Auto mode and Manual mode

• Three phase power and solar power is used as supply power input to the system

Hardware specifications• Arm7 • Lm317• Battery 12v/1.3A• Stepper motor• Dry null sensor• Solar panel• LDR• Relay• LCD• Toggle switches• Adapter• Switches(micros)

Software specification • Keil3• Keil4• Flash software

NOTE: One of the most important key feature of this system is that “solar panel is not fixed at one place” it varies position depending on the maximum intensity of light(solar tracking).Because of less number of panel installment due to solar tracking, this system will not occupy more agricultural land

Advantages• When power is not available, this system is very

helpful for the farmers to depend on solar power.• Energy source is renewable as well easily available.•Reduced man power.• Saves water and time.•Compact system.•Protection of Water Pumps during low water levels• Long life, easy and low maintenance, and efficient

Applicationso Large Fieldso Gardenso Forestso Parkso Fountain o Water Storage
