Weekend project!Modding an antique radio

My toy: Phillips B5X99TMy grandpa’s radio is in family for 45 years.It was abandoned in a shed.

Me + dust + termite + dust + cables + dust

Antique radio lovers are going to kill me...

I throwed out all the eletronic stuff. I needed the space for the other toy:

Edifier M1335

Some electronic adjustments...

I wanted to adjust the volume and some input switch on the original radio knobs and buttons.

Some woodwork on the external box, and reinforced the structure.

It was a pain to find the right fabric.I couldn’t find it, actually, I switched to another one.

Almost ready!Now it was just putting all together!

On/Off“On” indicating leds

Two RCA and one P2 inputsSwitch button on the front

Volume

I bought:Plained wood;

Glue;Fabric;

A lot of gas looking for material;LEDs, P2, RCA, Cable, Plugs;

Edifier M1335.

Time consumed:Total: Six holidays:

Many many hours looking for fabric;Many many hours sanding;

Many many hours thinking and trying to fit it all together.

Finished!

It’s really nice to finish this project!

I spend a nice time with my dad, that helped me with the electronic welding.

Thanks to my girlfriend that could not hear anymore about this project! =)
