Ash Wednesday - The causes of the fires have been notified down to the previous years of drought and extreme weather. Overall, 75 people were killed due to the fires, 47 people in Victoria and 28 people in South Australia. This event occurred 16 February 1983

The most active tornado day of 2008 in Minnesota was July 11. There were nine tornadoes reported, the strongest of which was an E-F3 tornado just south of Willmar in Kandiohi County.
