The Resurrection as Proof7

• The Bible teaches it.

• The Prophets spoke of it.

• The Apostles witnessed it.

• Jesus proclaimed it.

The Doctrine of the Divinity of Christ

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, that You tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus said to him, “You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tell you, hereafter you will see THE SON OF MAN SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF POWER, and COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN.”- Matthew 26:63-64

Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh,

- Romans 1:1-3

who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,

- Romans 1:4

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.” But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign; and yet no  sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;- Matthew 12:38-39

for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

- Matthew 12:40

1.To Prove Who He Was

Why Jesus Had To Resurrect

because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.- Acts 17:31

The Resurrection was the primary evidence given by

God.

Why Jesus Had To Resurrect

There have been many:Prophets, Servants, Miracle Workers, Great Leaders, and Martyrs

but only Jesus was resurrected according to prophecy.

1. To Prove Who He Was

2. To Demonstrate His Sinlessness

“…the wage of sin is death”- Romans 6:23

Why Jesus Had To Resurrect

For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

- Romans 5:19

But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

- Acts 2:24

Jesus had to rise from the dead to prove that His was indeed a

perfect and sinless sacrifice able to remove the sins from our

imperfect lives.

Why Jesus Had To Resurrect

1. To Prove Who He Was2. To Demonstrate His Sinlessness

3.To Prove We Could Resurrect

Why Jesus Had To Resurrect

• Denial

• Philosophy

• Resurrection

People Deal With Death In Many Ways:

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,- Hebrews 2:14

and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.

- Hebrews 2:15

For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.“

- John 6:40

1. The Bible Claims it.

2. The Resurrection Proves it.

3. The Witnesses Recorded it.

4. The Martyrs Confirm it.

The Divinity of Christ

Every attempt to destroy Christianity begins with an attack on these two major

doctrines.
