Migration Measurement using the EBRA-FCA SoftwarePeter Mayrhofer, February 2006

Start the program and click OK or just wait some seconds.

Open an image file of supported type jpg, gif, or, bmp.

Other graphics file formats have to be converted before.

Fill in the Patient‘s Data form.

True Head Diameter must be known!

Use zoom tools to get the desired views for input of head or bony landmarks.

Use image tools to enhance the contours.

Work through Measurement Tools menu from top to bottom.

Deactivated buttons become active later.

Head Input complete. Repeate if circle does not fit head‘s contour.

Or just move the input points by mouse drag.

Input of Stem Axis by 4 points in correct order (same direction on both sides of prostheses).

Shoulder Point set. Trochanter Lines and Tip-of-Stem Line can be moved into position.

Minor Trochanter Lines

Tip-of-Stem Line

Major Trochanter Line

Use the new Window option from the File Menu and Window Tiling at the Windows-Taskbar for comparison of the current image with older X-rays.

Reference Lines properly set. 8 Points on the femoral bone contour define the femur axis. Their order is arbitrary, as they get sorted automatically by the program.

Finally save your results to the datafile *.fca

You will be prompted for missing input data:

You forgot the x-ray date!

You forgot the Head Diameter!
