Mineral Insulated RTD / Fire Proof cables are proven choice in industries. The cable comprises a metal sheath in which copper conductors are embedded in highly compressed MgO insulation. The outer metal sheath protects the inner copper conductor against contamination

ADVANTAGES

The Construction of the cable guarantees a long life because the sheath and the insulating powder protect the conductors (wires) against environmental conditions such as corrosion or scaling. This ensures accurate calibration throughout the life of the cable.

Our manufacturing process results in lengths previously unheard of for mineral insulated cables - up to 110 Mtrs. in 6 MM Dia.

The small mass and high thermal conductivity promotes rapid heat Transfer.

The compact construction with densely packed mineral insulated powder and the robust metal sheath ensure the position of the conductors in the compound and thus the function of the cable, even when exposed to mechanical stresses such as bending, twisting or flattening.

The vast array of materials included in our standard inventory and the possibility of manufacturing to specification has put us in a position to supply suitable sheath materials, even for unfavorable environmental conditions in a corrosive atmosphere and at high temperatures

It can resist mechanical impact.

The correct choice of components ensures radiation resistance making possible the use of these cables in primary circuits as well as in the core area i.e. inside a nuclear reactor core.

The homogeneous metal sheaths are impervious to most liquids and gases and will withstand high external pressures. Unless otherwise specified, our sheaths are seamless, whereas some other manufacturers have longitudinal welded sheaths.

Since the only materials used to manufacture Mineral Insulated RTD cables are mineral powders and metals, the cables are fire proof and can thus be exposed to considerably higher temperatures than cables with synthetic sheaths (e.g. PVC, or textile fibers etc.).
