The Clinical Network…

Is one of four Clinical Networks:• Cancer• Cardiovascular• Maternity, children and young people• Mental Health, Dementia and Neurology

Is a team of:• Chris Kipps, Clinical Director• Denise Cope, Clinical Lead • Hilary Kelly, CN Manager • Rachel Chappell, Quality Improvement Lead

Aims to:• Look nationally and locally to share best practice and innovation • Work collaboratively to reduce variation and assure delivery

across Wessex

• Five Year Forward View for Mental Health

mental health services• Sustainability and Transformation Plans

• IAPT access figures vary from to 2.08% to 5.29% (target rolling

quarter 3.75%)

• Psychiatry services vary in relation to age range provision,

availability of inpatient services, dementia specific services,

CAMHS liaison services

• Dementia diagnosis rates vary from 60.45 to 75.5% (target

66.7%)

• No agreed standards for transition

• Variation in crisis care provision

• Workforce gap for delivery of IAPT and EIP services

• No 24/7 CAMHS service

The Clinical Network are….

….developing a five year local strategic vision for Mental Health, Dementia and Neurology (long term condition). The strategy sets out ambitions in the following areas:

Ambitions 1. Detection and diagnosis2. Collaborative community care3. Living well, rehabilitation and recovery4. Patients and carer experience5. Evidence, innovations and research into practice6. Workforce development

Supporting the MH access and waiting time standards through:

• Working collaboratively with Patients, Nursing, Specialised Commissioning, CCGs, Providers, Assurance and Delivery, Academic Health Science Network and PHE

• Wessex Mental Health Programme Board: Gain an understanding of the state of readiness across Wessex in

meeting the access and waiting time standards Support service development and transformation Support development of CCGs improvement plans

• Regional Mental Health Programme Board
