WHY MENTOR?

what IS mentoring?

• Mentoring brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentee.

• A mentor is a person who provides a young person with support, counsel, and friendship.

Why are mentors needed at San

Jacinto College?

• For every 100 African American males who start school here, only 8 of them finish.

• Our main goal is to fix that statistic.
