Agenda

Overview – Project Vision

Reduce cost by automating and simplifying the deployment and maintenance of Windows operating systems

Quick resolution by allowing users to self install Windows operating systems

Prevent loss of productivity by providing ability to quickly restore corrupted systems

“Automated & centralized deployment and provisioning of windows operating systems”

Overview – Value Proposition

Centralized manage provisioning

Automated the repurpose of the machines

Locally user -initiated provisioning

Rolls back to a known-good state

Architecture

Bare Metal Provisioning

Scheduled Personal backup and restoration

Self Provisioning

8.2.01 - New Features

Bare Metal Provisioning

Bare metal provisioning focus on installing operating systems on endpoints.

Administrator get set of Bare Metal machines

Admin specifies the MAC address, host name and domain of the new machine by

Adding Machines details manually

By importing the data using a CSV formatted file

Admin then selects an existing OS configuration (template), adds all details like regional settings and OU of the computer and requests its installation

Admin powers on the client machine

Client machine gets provisioned and End user can log on to the machine

The endpoint should contain the BBCA tuner and receive all applications assigned to him/her

Scheduled Personal Backup and Restoration

The user gets a new machine and the personal data of the user(s) of the old machine needs to be migrated to the new one.

Administrator gets a Bare metal machine

Admin specifies the MAC address, host name and domain of the new machine by

Adding it manually or

By importing the data using a CSV formatted file

System backups up personal settings from old machine

Admin selects an existing OS configuration (template) and requests its installation

Admin powers on the client machine

Client machine gets provisioned

System (as part of the OS installation) restores settings on to new machine

End user can log-on with known settings from the previous machine

Self Provisioning

The feature set “user selectable OS install” represents the way of self provisioning as part of the integration.

Admin selects one machine out of a pool of machines which has been already been added to the group

Admin powers on the machine and enters the escape key during the PXE menu

Admin selects menu entry “Self Provisioning”

Admin enters user name and password

Admin select one of the shown self provisioning items

Admin commits the installation

[optional] Admin adds values for each variable which has been defined for being asked during the installation

Machine goes for installation and installs the OS

OS installation is ready and user can logon

Reuse Proxy/Repeater tuner for sub depot data Replication

The user can use the repeater/proxy profile node for sub depot installation and Empirum data replication

New proxy/repeater setup

Create a profile using repeater/profile node and configure OSM data replication details(source tx, install dir. Include and schedule..)

Select installer type as “Create and installer that contains both the installers for BBCA Tuner and Empirum Sub depot” and configure BBCA Tuner and Empirum Sub depot installer related settings

Deploy the installer.

Existing Proxy/Repeater Setup

Edit the proxy/repeater profile and configure OSM data replication details(source tx, install dir, include and schedule)

Select installer type as “Create an installer for Empirum Sub depot

and configure Empirum sub depot installer related settings and create installer

Deploy the installer into repeater/proxy setup

Thank You !
