REOPENING ST. RAPHAEL By the me this column appears, there should be an announcement from the Archdiocese of Chicago about how the parishes of Chicago can reopen. We will need a team of volunteers who are willing to be trained how to prepare the church building to receive people, monitor the number of people in the building, and sani ze the building a er any services are held. This reopening will happen in phases with gatherings of a maximum of 10 people for bap sms, weddings, funerals and the opportunity for confession. I hope that we will also

soon be able to have people in church for personal prayer and Adora on of the Blessed Sacrament. Once we are able to safely welcome people for small services, we hope that we will receive permission for a public Mass with limited a endance. For this to happen we need volunteers who are under the age of 65, in good health and willing to par cipate in a webinar that will help prepare the volunteers for this work. If you are willing to help, please contact me at: mmcgovern@archchicago.org. We will begin viewing the webinar as early as this week. I realize many people are eager to return to church and we will do our best to safely welcome people back to St. Raphael. I also realize that some people, especially the elderly or those with health issues, may prefer to wait a li le longer before a ending church in person. Please know that we will con nue broadcas ng Sunday Mass from St. Raphael on our Facebook page and parish website so people may par cipate at Mass weekly. I am very pleased that we have resolved the issues about the sound quality of the Mass; I hope more people will join us this weekend.
