• A veteran of the sports entertainment industry, Charles Besser is founder, president, and chief executive officer of Intersport, Inc., a leading sports and entertainment marketing and media company.

• Under Charles Besser’s leadership, Intersport has produced thousands of hours of original programming for major networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and ESPN.

• A graduate of Marquette University, Charlie Besser excelled as both a student and an athlete.

• He played varsity golf and earned the university’s prestigious McCahill Award in 1972.

• Named for Marine Captain Robert L. McCahill and his brother, Marine Colonel William P. McCahill, the Marquette University McCahill Award recognizes a senior athlete at the university who has demonstrated excellence in the areas of academics, athletics, and leadership.

• Robert L. McCahill played football at Marquette University and earned a Bronze Star for his service in World War II.

• William P. McCahill participated in track and field at the university, and later served on the President's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped as its executive director for nearly three decades.
