SCC April Car Show
The Stuart Corvette Club’s car show which is a Wash & Shine Show,
will be held on Sunday April 24th. We need as many volunteers as
possible to help with parking, registration, 50/50 tickets, manning the
basket tables and cleaning up after the show just to name a few tasks.
To make this show a success we need a lot of help from all our members.
Our upcoming car show committee meetings are 3/16, 4/6 and 4/13 (if
needed). All meeting start at 6:00 and are at Bonefish Mac's in PSL.
Please e-mail John Hosler to sign up (jchosler@hotmail.com) or call him

Cruise-In Corvette Show sponsored by Wallace Chevrolet at the
beautiful Ft. Pierce City Marina. 15 trophies and a Club Choice trophies
will be awarded to SCC participants and their cars will be judged by
visiting show participants. This is a judged show for non SCC
participants with 31 trophies up!

show field was 132 Corvettes and 50 SCC members registered! 50/50

Hey Folks,
As you know, our "Goody Bags," given to each participant at our Annual show are among
the best stocked of just about any show on the entire Treasure Coast. We are well known for
them!
But, this year I've noticed that some vendors are cutting back, so I could use a little help from
each of you. Try asking your local car parts store, dentist, realtor, favorite restaurant owner,
bakery, grocery, or drug store to help out with some promotional items to advertise their
business for FREE at our Annual River Cruise-In Corvette Show this year.
We plan to make 150 goody bags. Advise them that it's a great way to advertise! Pens, pencils,
calendars, stickers, hard candy, wrapped mints, towelette wipes, discount coupons and gift
certificates make nice items for the bags. Also, a portion of the car show proceeds goes to benefit
Treasure Coast Food Bank, Hope Center for Autism and the Martin County Council of Aging.
OR, stop by Sam's and get a box of hand wipes, individual sanitizers, packs of gum or candy
and donate it to your club. Every little bit helps, but try for quantities of 100-150, so we can put
them in all bags. Also, and it is always a challenge, we try to supply EVERY entrant with a
"DOOR PRIZE" like car wax, car cleaning supplies, window cleaner, mini flashlights, key
fobs, small gift cards and other items of nominal value but too big for a Goody Bag.
Your local auto supply store may be willing to give you some discontinued auto care products
that we can use, or if you have an old gift card you don't expect to use, toss it in the pot! If any
of the places you frequent do not have promotional items, ask them for a small gift certificate
toward a purchase. Just a few such items from each of you will really make a difference. You
never know unless you ask! Take a show flyer with you to help introduce yourself and the show.
(flyer is on next page)
Feel free to drop off any treasures with one of your nearby Board members, at Nightrider, or
any SCC event or mail them directly to me at Al DeLong, 1728 SW Mockingbird Dr. Port St.
Lucie, 34986.

The top awards that you can receive for your Corvette is the Bloomington Gold or (NCRS) National Corvette Restores Society Duntov award. Both awards standards are that the Corvette has been restored back to the exact same condition it was when brand new. The Duntov award is the highest NCRS award. A Bloomington Gold certificate is from a company operating out of Illinois that will certify that your Corvette is restored to original condition. Some of the top Corvettes have plaques from both NCRS and the Bloomington
Gold company. Good luck. Club members Karl and Kathy Sterner
are the proprietors of ASK Auto, which is
a Corvette service facility in Port Saint
Lucie. For service call 772-335-0420.

How Do You Spell Winner?
Congratulations to Dan Kikkert for
another first place trophy win at
Reflections in Glass XXXIII held on
February 6, 2016 at AutoNation Chevrolet
in Ft Lauderdale. Dan has been attending
this show almost every year since 2006.
He won his first trophy at the 2006 show.
Most of us never forget that first trophy
win. Since then Dan has won 6 first place
and 3 second place awards at the show.
Only two years did he fail to bring home
an award.
Congratulations Dan and thanks for
representing our club at this event.
Next year I hope we can get a few more
cars to make the trip.

Brunch with Barry
What started out as a beautiful day, 20+ gorgeous corvettes and 40+ hungry people, finished with a few
problems. We met at the Civic Center and had a perfect cruise down along the Indian River to the new
Berry Fresh Cafe in Stuart. When I made the reservation, I was assured that plenty of parking next door
would be made available to us for our visit. However, when we arrived we were met with an irate lady
who did not want our cars on her property. I called the manager from my car and was told there was
nothing he could do at this time. After about 15 minutes we all managed to find a parking spot and went
in to a private room and had a wonderful breakfast with great friends. Another example how we were
able to turn some lemons into lemon aid. Another successful Brunch with Barry. Hope to see you next
month.
Great Friends, Great Cars, Life is Good. Barry ******************************************************************************************************************************
February Event On Sunday February 21st we drove to Harborside Place in Jupiter. More than 40 people attended in
about 20 Corvettes. We drove down Jupiter Island road together; a beautiful drive in beautiful cars! We
ate on the patio at Calaveras Cantina, with live music. We had nice weather and everyone enjoyed the
meal and even a few Margaritas! We were joined by eight non-members who are considering our club.
We took in 2 new memberships. One new member is Mike Hatten, who has a 1993 C4 Convertible that
won Top Flight at the Regional NCRS in Lakeland last month. Congratulations to Mike! Thanks to Jerry
Petriw and Dave Todd for helping to keep the group together. No Corvette was left behind!
Thanks to Gail and Tom Herr for putting on this event.
