Meet the newly-elected Student Government Association at Earle Elementary School. The 20 member group is a historical first

for the school. Students were nominated based on their outspokenness, leadership abilities, and high-achieving attributes. The

SGA at Earle Elementary meets weekly to discuss community service projects, fundraisers, and any concerns from peers. Future

projects include a collaboration with St. Jude. Mrs. Kaiesha McGruder serves as the SGA Sponsor.

Students donated and collected socks and gave

to one of our local Nursing Homes!

National Read Across America Day is part of Read Across America, an initiative on reading created by

the National Education Association. This motivational and awareness day calls for all children and youth

in every community across the United States to celebrate reading.

To celebrate Read Across America Week and the birthday of Dr. Seuss on March 2nd, some fun activities

are planned for the week of March 2nd through March 6th at both schools. The students will have the

opportunity to dress up for each day. We hope the students enjoy participating in this school-wide

celebration of READING.

Monday, March 2nd Cat in the Hat Day Wear your coolest craziest hat.

Book Focus: The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss

Tuesday, March 3rd Whoville Day Wear your craziest, or wackiest hair style or even silly clothes that

don’t coordinate to represent the weird citizens of Whoville! Book Focus: Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss

Wednesday, March 4th Wacky Sock Day

Wear your wackiest or silliest socks to represent Fox in Socks. Book Focus: Fox in Socks and Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Seuss

Thursday, March 5th Green is Keen Day

Wear the color green. Book Focus: Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss

Friday, March 6th Seuss Yourself Day

Dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character (star on your belly for a Sneech, moustache for a Lorax dress like a friend, wear a blue wig for Thing One & Two, or anything!)

Book Focus: Any Dr. Seuss book
