On Feb. 7, the Organizational Development division of Human Resources held a graduation ceremony for the third class in the city’s Engaging Leader program. This group of 30 employees represented 14 different departments in the city. At their graduation, the class presented four final projects selected from the AdvancePHX
initiative. The projects’ sponsoring departments were there to hear the recommendations for the respective teams. The new Engaging Leader Class #004 starts on Feb. 22 with an additional 20 supervisors.

CONGRATS GRADS! NO COST TESTING
Prostate On-site Project (POP) is returning for city workers and spouses - at NO COST.
One in six men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.
The test takes just 15 minutes and could save a life.
Screenings are performed by a medical doctor specializing in the field. The prostate exams are free for city employees at least 40 years old and for younger men with prostate cancer in the family.
Please bring your city ID and your insurance card at the time of your appointment for free services. Details:

The Planning and Development Department recently completed 22 sessions of “Doing What Matters, Every Day, Every Customer” ROCK training for 339 staff, including contract staff and staff from Water Services, Public Transit and Fire. These sessions were customized for each work group and focused on how to how to make the customer experience great, no matter what role staff plays in the department.
At the culmination of the training, staff celebrated the department’s ongoing commitment to excellent customer service with a motivational event at the Phoenix Convention Center. The event featured guest speaker Robert Van Arlen as well as Deputy City Manager Mario Paniagua, department Director Alan Stephenson, Assistant Director Mo Glancy and representatives from Organizational Development.
