The library was quiet,

Kids snuggled at home

Except for one very busy

library gnome

Every year he visited,

like clockwork he came

“They know I am here but

they don’t know my name”

I will leave them a note with

little surprises each day

“Thank GOODNESS for the

library gnome”

they will say

Helping to tidy,

organize and shelve

I will be better than

any Christmas elf

Helping each night and

sleeping the next day

Tucked away behind books

While the children

read and play

Merry Christmas Cecil got tired of

being undercover

so he came up with a

Christmas plan like no other!

The librarians arrived

one morning to see

Their surprise was a

Beautifully decorated

Christmas tree

The note Cecil left was the best

surprise of all

Cecil the library gnome loves
