All Arrowquip chutes are precision crafted for optimal performance and a small amount of regular maintenance will ensure the equipment delivers reliable performance for years.

CATTLE CHUTE MAINTENANCE1. Put a few shots of grease in main pivot point.

2. Ensure the bolts on the hammers are tensioned correctly, so there is enough play for the door hammers to move freely in their slots.

3. Check the tension on the door rollers.

a) The bolts should be tight enough to not be moved by hand, but not over-tight so that the rollers bind.

b) You should feel the rollers moving when you open the head gate.

4. Ensure all moving components are free of debris and functioning properly.

5. Lubricate moving parts with WD-40 Regularly.

a) Head Gate Shaft

b) Head Gate Rollers

c) Cam-slam latches

d) Rolling door wheels

e) Squeeze pivot points

LOCK MAINTENANCE1. Use WD-40 on the lock boxes regularly to keep them working properly.

a) Squeeze Lock Box

b) Head Holder (If Applicable)

ADJUSTING THE SQUEEZE LOCK SETTINGSAdjustments on the squeeze lock release may be necessary to ensure the squeeze functions smoothly. To adjust the squeeze lock settings:

1. Loosen jam nuts and back out front and rear bolts.

2. Engage squeeze to get visual of the release pin.

3. Apply inward pressure on the squeeze handle and adjust back bolt until there is 1/4” – 3/8” gap between fandangle and release pin.

4. Apply outward pressure on the squeeze handle and then tighten front bolt until there is clearance between locking collar and box.

5. Re-tighten jam nuts.

a) Tightening will give you less push.

b) Loosening will give you more push.

c) You will not have to push the release pin very far to enable release.

The sole purpose of the Release Pin Collar (if applicable) is to stop the Release Pin from going in too far and re-locking the shaft.

TROUBLESHOOTING1. Brake cleaner is recommended for degreasing and removing build-up as necessary.
