Presentation

Before Operation

Start Oral dose of Antibiotics 2 days before Surgery & continue till the 5th

day thereafter (According to prescription of your Oral Surgeon )

Have a routine Healthy diet &

take a good sleep on the night

before surgery

Wake up early & Have a

breakfast (2 times of

routine quantity)

Ask your Surgeon for Intravenous

Injection ofKetorolac if you arevery much sensitive

to Pain(not compulsory)

Take Oral Dose ofTab. Ultracet

(Tramadol 37.5mg + Acetaaminophen 325mg)

10 mins before Surgery

Keep listening to soothing music till you start with the treatment.

Be calm and relaxed while in surgery as it’s a 100% safe

procedure

Don’t move suddenly. Drills might hurt you.

Remember, Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon is the only doctor who can do Wisdom tooth removal painlessly.

Postoperative Instructions are very Important.

Follow them correctly.

Post-operative Instructions Hold Cotton Over Surgical region of mouth for next 45 minutes .Remove it gently with clean hands after 45 mins.Have Ice cream (It will stop the blood & reduce the pain to some extent)

Remember , You have to swallow saliva, blood or whatever comes in mouth for next 24 hours. Spitting is not allowed.

You can Brush teeth on next day morning but mouthwash is not allowed for next 4 days. Let the water go passively after brushing as active spitting is not allowed.

No cold drinks ,tea, smoking , tobacco chewing , alcohol for next 7 days.

On the day of operation, Strictly take rest & Apply ice from outside the region operated ( It will reduce the swelling ). 20 mins on/ off.

Sleep in 10 degree propped-up position.

For Next 3 days , Have Soft and cold Diet and eat from other side of mouth.

Swelling will be there for 3-4 days .Its absolutely normal . If persists more then call your surgeon.

For Sever pain, Take Ketorolac or Tramadol (3-4 times a day )

Donts

You should not Take Ketorolac for more than 5 days.Alcohol is not allowed anyhow but should not be taken when on Tramadol as it can cause Coma & Death .

Don't Apply any Cream , Hot Towel or anything other than instructed over face to reduce pain . It will increase problems .
