Tips on Searching
» Search – Select – Results » Everything is a begin with search» Wildcard searches ?,=,%» Narrow search» Dash and Zero’s.
Wildcard Searching
The Default search method is a “begin with” search. For example to find “9540N115” use “9540”. This will also find “95405” and “9540A27”
Wildcard Searching
All numbers can be searched with or without the Dashes. Searching the number "9540" will return "95405" as well as "954-036" and "954-028"
Wildcard Searching
All numbers can be searched by using the letter O or the number 0. Searching the number "OCB1036" can also be found by typing in (zero) "0CB1O36"
Wildcard Searching
The % is used as the replacement of many characters.
To find the number "AB9540N115" use "%9540"
Wildcard Searching
The ? is used as a single character replacement. If you have an item that the 5th character is difficult to read, you can replace that character with the "?". For example "9540?115" will return "9540N115" and "9540A115".
Wildcard Searching
You can use more than one ? to find an item. For example "95???115" will return "9540N115" "9540A115" but not "9540N115A".
Wildcard Searching
You can use the ? and the % in combination. Searching "954??11%" will return "9540N115" and "9540A115" and "9540N115A"
Wildcard Searching
The = is used to find an exact match. For example, searching "A100" finds all items that begin with "A100", i.e "A1003","A100Z", etc. Using "=A100" will only find all numbers that are "A100".
Reverse Search made Simple
» B can replace A» C can replace B or A» A cannot replace C or B
» Unless C or B was using only one side of the sequence
» So A, B, and C are not always the same!
» Reverse search shows the A to C or B relations.
The Future of JXI
» Store pricing matrix» XML calls to vendors» Drop-down features NEW TO .NET 2.0!» Other types of Cross Information Tools
» Motor Source» Compressor resource
