WHAT IS LULZ SECURITY ??

• Lulz security or Lulzsec for short is a group of computer hackers.

• Lulzsec is called a grey hat hacker group because they are only in it for entertainment and recognition.

THE GROUP

• The group was said to consist of six members

• The name of the leader is Hector Xavier Monsegur Aka (Sabu).

2011• The group was formed in 2011

• The group's first attack was on Fox.com, they retaliated against after they called Common, a rapper.

• They leaked several passwords, LinkedIn profiles, and the names of 73,000 X Factor contestants.

HELPING WIKI LEAKS

• Lulz Security said that some of its hacks, including its attack on PBS, were motivated by the desire to defend WikiLeaks.

SONY PICTURES• In June 2011, members of the group claimed the were to blame on the attack of Sony

Pictures, this attack took data that included names, passwords, e-mail addresses, home addresses and dates of birth. “The group claimed that it used a SQL injection attack.

ANTISEC

• Some people in the security community have created a group that raised awareness of the world wide lack of effective security to protect against hackers.

LULZRAFT

• They have also been credited with inspiring LulzRaft, a group which has been implicated in several high-profile website hacks in Canada.
