“I really wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of Alice** [Aberlour support worker] and Aberlour. I wouldn’t have known where to begin. By talking to Alice about my experience it is helping me to deal with it and move on. Now I am more confident, I am looking forward to the future and building a safe stable environment for my children.”Kerrie

Are you or someone you know:• a pregnant woman affected by domestic
abuse?
• a mother with children
- affected by domestic abuse living in the
family home?
- fleeing domestic abuse?
- who has experienced domestic abuse and
is now living in a safer environment?
Then get in touch as our team can help.
The Bridges PartnershipThe Bridges Partnership is jointly provided by
Aberlour Family Support Service - Glasgow and
Shelter Scotland. The service is a multi-agency
partnership designed to support mothers and
their children living in the North West and South
Glasgow area who are or have been affected
by domestic abuse.
Our children & family workers are trauma
informed, IDAA qualified (Independent
Domestic Abuse Advocates) and trained in the
Safe & Together Model.
Referrals are accepted from a wide range of
partners including the NHS, education and
statutory services. We also accept self-referrals
from families who need our help.
How can we help?We will work with mothers and their children to:
• Assess and manage risk
• Provide housing information & assistance
• Inform women & children of their rights
• Advocate for the family
• Provide 1-2-1 support for both mother and children as appropriate
We will do this by:
• Keeping safety planning & risk assessments a priority
• Providing continuous support until each mother & their children feel safe
• Signposting & helping each mother to access additional services as needed
• Providing support & advice on criminal and civil proceedings
• Working within GIRFEC’s model
Who do we support?
We help mothers and their children
affected by domestic abuse living
in the North West and South of
Glasgow.
