Health & Wealth Inspiration
If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else. – Booker T. Washington
Health: Figuring out a balance between work and life can be consuming and overwhelming, but a great way to reduce those things is to keep a schedule. You should even be sure to schedule yourself some downtime where you can relax and let off some steam from the week.
Wealth: Try and save at least $1 per day and/or loose change in a jar around the house. Those small savings can add up quickly!
Wealth: Use your savings account as a way to put aside money for an emergency fund. The recommended amount is at least three months of living expenses.

Three Many Cooks,
Anderson, Pam. 2015. When the women behind the popular blog Three Many Cooks gather in the busiest room in the house, there are never too many cooks in the kitchen. Now acclaimed cookbook author Pam Anderson and her daughters, Maggy Keet and Sharon Damelio, blend compelling reflections and well-loved recipes into one funny, candid, and irresistible book. Together, Pam, Maggy,
and Sharon reveal the challenging give-and-take
between mothers and daughters, the passionate belief that food nourishes both body and soul, and the simple wonder that arises from good meals shared. Three Many Cooks ladles out the highs and lows, the kitchen disasters and culinary triumphs, the bitter fights and lasting love. Of course, these stories would not be complete without a selection of treasured recipes that nurtured relationships, ended feuds, and expanded repertoires, recipes that evoke forgiveness, memory, passion, and perseverance.

Buttermilk Basics
Buttermilk is a great way to add flavor and nutrition to many dishes. It has a longer storage time than fresh milk, and is therefore a great ingredient to have in your refrigerator. Buttermilk was originally the fluid left behind after churning butter from milk. Today, you can find reduced-fat varieties and locally produce buttermilk that is thick and rich in flavor. Buttermilk retains the nutrients from the milk used to produce it and is a good source of calcium and protein. Cultured buttermilk contains” good bacteria” that lend a tart flavor to the product. You can use buttermilk to make salad dressing, cornbread and pancakes. It can also be used in creamed soups or casseroles where a tart, milk flavor is desired. And of course, buttermilk makes great biscuits.
Mix together two cups of self-rising flour, ¼ cup oil and ¾ cup buttermilk until dough forms. Pat or roll the dough out onto a floured surface, cut your biscuits and bake for about 12 minutes in a 475 degree F oven until golden brown.
