Living as a son or daughter in the Father’s house

Galatians 4:4-5 (NLT)

But when the right time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent Him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that He could

adopt us as His very own children.

Galatians 4:6-7 (NLT)

And because we are His children, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God's

own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir.

John 8:34-36 (NLT)

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.

A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.

So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.”

Romans 8:15-16 (NIV)

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your

adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Romans 8:17-19 (NIV)

Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we

share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager

expectation for the children (Huios) of God to be revealed.
