FAQs about the Library

Where is the Library?

The library is located in room 100 B in Building C next to the computer lab.

What kind of stuff can I find in the Library?

Books, magazine, journals, videos and DVDs are available for checkout.

Many reference books are available for in-Library use.

Handouts on citation styles, electronic resources and other helpful information are available.

What are the policies for borrowing items?

Most items in the Library may be checked out for two weeks.

Most items may be renewed, if no one else has asked for them.

Reference materials, reserve materials and current periodicals may not be checked out.

What are the policies for borrowing items?

Back issues of periodicals may be checked out.

You can have up to 10 items out at one time.

Please be considerate of others and return library materials on time.

How do I find books in the Library?

We have an online catalog that can be accessed in the Library, or from any Internet enabled computer via the Library web site.

Search by subject, keyword, title, author

How do I find books in the Library?

When you find an item in the catalog, write down the call number.

This call number works like a street address: it tells you where on the shelves to find the book.

We use the Dewey Decimal System, so the books are in numerical order on the shelves.

What’s the Dewey Decimal System?

It’s a classification system that helps to bring order to the library collection.

The Dewey Decimal System organizes knowledge into general categories.

Each category is assigned a range of numbers. For example, Literature can be found from 800-899.
