There are so many uses for Squeeze
bottles? Plastic squeeze bottles are
sold as containers for ketchup and
mustard… but they’re perfect in other
jobs too.
Pre-treat your laundry. Pour your
liquid laundry detergent into a plastic
squeeze bottle. It will make pre-
treating spots easier to hit the spot!
Decorate a cake. Fill a clean squeeze
bottle with icing and use it to decorate
your cake. You’ll find creating flowers,
flags, balloons and piping is much
easier, and your words made of icing
will be much clearer.
Make a masterpiece in the snow. If
you’re not a big fan of snowball fights,
try redirecting your children toward a
different kind of snow play. Arm them
with several squeeze bottles filled with
water and a few drops of food color-
Did you know… ing. They’ll get a kick out of
squirting colorful designs into
the snow.
Fill your iron. The hole you’re supposed to
use in your steam iron can seem impossibly
small. Make your life easier by filling a clean
bottle with water and using it to fill your iron.
Make perfect pancakes. A squeeze bottle
filled with pancake batter is the perfect tool
for squeezing out silver dollar size pancakes
onto a griddle. If the nozzle is too small to let
the batter flow, use scissors to snip off a bit.
For camping, add a bottle half filled with dry
pancake mix to the food park. At breakfast
time, add water, shake and squeeze into the
pan.

Another Christmas on Nan-

owner Kelley Quinn reflecting
on the past year as he writes a
holiday letter to friends and
family. With jealousy, passion
and eggnog consumption at an all-time high, it’s
going to take a whole lot more than a Christmas
miracle to get the Quinns … and the inn …
through the holidays intact.

Pelican Branch patrons and staff were enter-
tained as Gerald Lafitte sang and John Cham-
berlain accompanied with guitar during Open
House.
Open House was a huge success at all four locations of the DeSoto Parish Library. We would like to take this oppor-
tunity to thank all our friends and patrons who participate in DPL functions and it really warms our hearts when we
see such smiling faces. As our mission states: “The DeSoto Parish Library is a service institution which seeks to
inform, educate, entertain and culturally enrich the lives of all people from early childhood to senior citizens, through
the use of books and other materials, technological innovations, facilities and professional services.”
