Evaluation Question 6: What have you learnt about technologies from

the process of constructing this product?

DV Digital Camera

• We used a Digital Camera for all of our filming which makes it the most important piece of equipment without it we couldn’t have done any of the coursework. Our skills have developed throughout the course with the camera and we all feel we can use it to a high standard.

Tripod

• A tripod was also a very important piece of equipment because most of our shots needed to be still, without it our shots would’ve have looked rough very amateurish, and and the tripod allowed us to do that. Like with the digital camera our skills with it have been drastically improved.

Still Digital Camera

• We used a still camera in our coursework to take pictures of locations, animatics and characters to put on our blogand show everyone our ideas.

Camera Phone

• We also needed a camera phone on a couple of occasions to take rough videos and pictures of things we would be needing for our film.

Apple Mac Computer

• The Apple Mac was one of the most important things we needed because it allowed us to put our footage together through editing. We also spent a lot of time researching things and looking at clips on Youtube for ideas etc This is another skill that we needed to improve on because I was completely new to Apple Macs but can now use them efficiently.

Blogger

• Blogger is very important when doing our coursework because we need to let the examiner know what work we have been doing which meant we need to be posting every few days to let people keep up to date with me and my coursework. Anyone with internet access can see my blog, from anywhere in the world.

Final Cut Express

• Final Cut Express was the most important application that we used, this was because all of the editing was done entirely on this and without it none of the film could have been made. It is quite confusing at first but we had to get used to it, being worth it in the end.

Mobygratis

• We used Mobygratis to download background music for our film. We needed to sign up and wait a few days before actually being able to use the music. There was a few other sites that we found but we thought Mobygratiswas the easiest to use.

Survey Monkey

• Survey Monkey was a site we used to collect information from the public to help get us an idea of what our audience would want and who our audience would be. The information that we collected was audience research and audience feedback.

Youtube

• We used Youtube to help give us tips on what we could use in our film. We looked at past students work and other videos which we found helpful. Another way we used Youtube was to upload videos so people could see them and maybe feedback to us, these were later put on my blog.

Livetype

• Livetype was another application we used to create our identand credits for our film. We needed a bit of practice at first but after a while it became repetitive and quite simple.

Slideshare

• Slideshare is new piece of technology I used. I found it on the internet and it allowed me to put powerpointpresentations onto my blog in a simple way, it was very easy to use and it has proved very helpful when using it on my blog.

What skills have I gained?

• Throughout my coursework I have had to use many different types of technology, some of them being much harder than others. But overall I feel I have gained a lot of skills that I would have had no clue about before the course, and I am sure theses skills will beneiftme in the future.
