In Spanish, to ask somebody’s age, you ask, ‘How Many Years Do You have?

The question is, ¿Cuántos años tienes?¿CUÁNTOS? means HOW MANY?

AÑOS – means YEARS

¿TIENES? means DO YOU HAVE?

¿Cuántos años tienes? – How many years do you have or in solid English, ‘How Old Are You?’

To respond to the question, ‘How Old Are You?

use TENGO , which means ‘I have’ and then the number of years.

To say “I’m thirteen“ in Spanish you say “Tengo trece años” I’m thirteen

Whilst it seems odd in English, in Spanish you ‘have,’ a number of years. So use TENGO, which means, ‘I have,’ and the number to express how old you are.
