BRAGGING RIGHTS

• Worked to continue and build the culture of “We will”. No more hoping and wishing for success; we do

everything needed to grow students.• Average NOVICE rate REDUCTION from 21.13%

to16.67%.• Average Proficient/Distinguished rate INCREASE

from 47.08% to 54.38%.• Nearly doubled P/D% in Writing: 27.9% to 53.1%.• Program Review scores increased significantly.• GAP score increase from 39.7 to 51.6.• Growth score increase from 65.3 to 68.6.

– Math Growth score from 66.4 to 75.6 (above 40th%)

What we are doing differently…..

• Negative Behavior Reduction Plan:• Instituted “On-Track” tickets for K-2, 3-5, & Bus• Intentional Focus on POSITIVE TALK (13.3:1 ratio/ 4:1

ratio)• Proactive discipline approach

• ABRI: team has focused on behavior and academic connections• Utilizing data in the decision-making process

• PBIS team has focused on positive Culture/Climate for all.• PLC’s: Intentional focus on DATA each month (high & low)

• Teams are creating their own agendas for PLC’s• Transparency: Data is shared K-5; no excuse for not knowing

student performance levels

• LJES has worked to focus specifically on positive CULTURE for all• FACEBOOK is a crucial ally in this mission.• Multiple after school programs/clubs added

Next steps….

• Improve Attendance (97% goal)• Attendance plan has increased contact points (phone and

home visits).• We go get kids and bring them to school if needed

• LJES must continue lowering Novice % & raising P/D%. We are targeting students beginning in Kindergarten.

• Diminish gender gaps.• Develop high-level critical thinkers. • Utilize available data more efficiently.• Looking at Brigance data and how we can improve our

community’s readiness awareness

• Continue working to be DISTINGUISHED & not being satisfied.
