Example of Lesson Topic:

Project 7.2- Hello! I am a Totalitarian Dictator Expert!In this Project, you will be assigned a topic that has to do with a Totalitarian Dictator. You will present your topic to the class for a grade.The most important thing to remember is that you are telling the story of your topic. I do not want you to regurgitate what you read word for word. I want you to know your topic like the back of your hand so that you can tell the story of your topic. We will take notes on your topic but we do not want to write huge blocks of text. Please highlight what you want us to take notes on and keep it short! You should only have three to four sentences on each slide at the most. Here are the requirements. Follow them closely.

1. You must have four sources each. At the end of the presentation, you must have a works cited page that alphabetizes all of the sources from everyone in your group. Only 1 of your sources can be a .com per student. The rest should be .org or .edu. The sources must be cited MLA style and all images must be cited as well.2. You must come up with a nice looking title page that uses the same title I have given you.3. Each question is a slide and you must have one slide that is just an image.4. You must have an image on each slide.5. You image slide should tell the story in and of its self. It should captivate. You must be able to talk about you image slide and what it represents.6. You will be graded down for reading off your slides constantly. Note Cards or Paper Notes are strongly recommended. If you don't need any and you can give a great presentation then that is even better. However, don't read your slides.

Stalin:-Country?-What kind of government did he lead?-Whose footsteps did he follow in? Who did he kill to take power?-What were the Great Purges?-What were his 5 year plans?-What is a Gulag?-What is his nickname?-Define Collectivization.-What was Stalinism

Now here are the requirements for the items:

-Your group will collaborate using Google Presentation

-It needs to be embedded on your Google Site.

Part 2 to this lesson: Project 7.1- Short Film on an EgomaniacFor this project you will be using iMovie. You will have 1 full class period to do this project. You are going to create a 1 minute introduction video about a totalitarian dictator. You will choose from Hitler, Stalin, or Mussolini. You need to answer the questions below in the video. The video cannot exceed 1 minute 20 seconds and it may not be under 1 minute. This is not a fancy iMovie but can be if you take time at home.

Requirements:1. You must use 8 pictures in the video.2. You must answer all of the questions thoroughly.3. You must have three sources (cite them with Easybib and have them at the end of the video.4. Voice over is optional but most of that would have to be done outside of class.5. It needs to be quick but correct and informative.6. No needless facts like date of birth, parents names...or things like that.7. There must be music but it must have non-copyright.8. You must upload to Vimeo and embed on your Google Site.
