Man’s Neck Warmer:
Designed to scrunch, roll or fold and wear under a
sweatshirt, jacket, or other cold weather apparel. This
is similar to a dickey (neck garment worn under a shirt
to create a mock turtleneck) but made larger and bulk-
ier for extra warmth.
Ideal for hunters and those working in cold environ-
ments this neck warmer works up quickly and is per-
fect for those learning to crochet.
Pattern on next page.

Half Double Crochet (Hdc) The half double crochet works up into a pleasing
affect that's basic but with a lot of appeal. The hdc can be used with just about any yarn or
crochet thread.
Practice: Make foundation chain of 11. Turn. In 2nd ch sp from hook, yarn over hook.
Insert hook in the next stitch (ch sp) to be worked.
Yarn over hook while hook still inserted in ch sp.
Pull yarn through stitch (ch sp).
Yarn over hook. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
Pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook—Hdc made.
Slip Stitch (SST) Used as a finishing or sewing stitch, sometimes as the featured stitch
in a garment or other accessory.
Insert hook into ch sp. Yarn over. Pull hook through, then move hook into next ch sp.
You should always have on loop on the hook.
Repeat for next stitch.
